The Simple Pine Box.
Wood, Glue, Fabric, Rope.... sanded smooth with care and prayer.... a humble, yet dignified resting place for the body in death. There is no metal in this casket... not even one screw or nail... fully able to be burned in creamation or buried in a cemetary.
You and your family can decorate and personalized this casket with markers or paint. A hand rubbed finish of Johnson's paste wax is available as a $25 option.
It is important to me... and hopefully to you also, that this casket is very affordable. I usually have a casket already built and ready. The $650 pricing works this way: come and pick up your casket either when it is ready or else sometime in the next two years... I will store it here for you for a while. And if you want me to deliver your casket the cost will be the number of miles between us multiplied by $1 per mile. The Twin Cities is about 200 miles away so that would be about $200 for delivery either to your house or to a funeral home of your choice.
Additional Casket Services:
Paste Wax Finish -- $25 to apply a hand rubbed coat of Johnson's paste wax for an even smoother touch and sheen.
Delivery -- $1 per mile (based on one way mileage from Hibbing to your destination).
Additional Storage -- $50 per year (beyond the initial two years) purchased one year at a time.
Feel free to contact me by phone, text or email. I would love to hear from you. ~ Mark
Exterior Size is 27.5" x 80" x 16.5" and a shorter 72" casket is made for shorter people. Both sizes fit inside a standard vault.
The sides and top of the casket are 3/4" pine boards... glued... sanded smooth... and hand rubbed with Johnson's paste wax (as an option).
The bottom of the casket is very strong 3/4" plywood. The handles are 1" cotton rope. A queen sized comforter is folded in three to line the bottom of the casket... and you could add your own favorite quilt. Double-stuffed pillow.
FTC Funeral Rule states: The funeral provider cannot refuse to handle a casket or urn you bought online, at a local casket store, or somewhere else -- or charge you a fee to do it. The funeral home cannot require you to be there when the casket or urn is delivered to them.
